OUR STORY
The story begins with Chris Loken, an actor—in between jobs— and Rande Loken —an established model, who purchased the farm back in 1969. Looking for a physical outlet and a space to pursue a literary career, Chris and Rande pooled their money together and came up with a down payment for the farm and a chance to make a living for their young, growing family. The Lokens chose Love Apple Farm simply because they liked the name. They knew that it referred to a wild tomato but so what?
In between seasons and farming, Chris found enough time to write a novel! Through his novel, “Come Monday Morning” and mutual friends, Chris met Francis Greenburger who became his literary agent and soon a close friend.
Upon deciding to move to the West Coast in 2012, the Lokens left the area and Love Apple Farm. Enter Francis Greenburger and Isabelle Autones. With the insight and desire to protect the farm for the community and to preserve the rural charm of the area, Francis and Isabelle poured their love of the country life and business sense into what is now the 52nd year of Love Apple Farm!

“And when you crush an apple with your teeth, say to it in your heart: Your seeds shall live in my body, And the buds of your tomorrow shall blossom in my heart, And your fragrance shall be my breath, And together we shall rejoice through all the seasons.”
― Khalil Gibran
